Preschool Silver Bells Christmas Ornament
The Preschool Silver Bells Christmas Ornament can be hung from your Christmas tree, but they are especially nice when hung from a door so they ring every time the door opens and closes. Since the main part of the Preschool Silver Bells Christmas ornament is made from left over drinking cups and aluminum foil, they are simple and inexpensive to make.
Materials you will Need
6-ounce drinking cups
Aluminum foil
½-inch silver jingle bells
Red and green chenille stems
½-inch red and green ribbon to make a bow
Something to make a hole in the top of the cups such as a pencil
How to Make It
Step 1:
Make a hole in the top of each cup.
Step 2:
Tear off a piece of aluminum foil big enough to cover the inside of the cup. Mold it to the sides. Leave the hole uncovered.
Step 3:
Tear off a second piece of foil and cover the outside of the cup. Again, leave the hole uncovered or make a hole in the foil. Overlap the edge of the foil on the inside to make sure the cup is completely covered.
Step 4:
Slip the end of a chenille stick under the end of a jingle bell and twist to fasten.
Step 5:
About an inch from the jingle bell, make a knot in the chenille stem to keep it from sliding back out. The inch will give the bell room to swing so it will ring.
Step 6:
Slip the chenille stick through the hole in the cup from the inside.
Step 7:
Make a knot in the chenille stick above the jingle hole in the cup.
Step 8:
Make a second bell the same way.
Step 9:
Twist the end of the chenille sticks together.
Step 10:
Tie the ribbon into a bow over the twist.
Step 11:
Hang the bells by the “V” formed by the chenille sticks or make the ribbon long enough for hanging.
