Mini Ghost Preschool Halloween Craft
The Mini Ghost Preschool Halloween Craft is very easy and inexpensive to make. Make little ghosts from tissue paper and hang them around the house or hang them on the Mini Ghost Mobile for a charming decoration. Follow the basic instructions for the Mini Ghost Preschool Halloween Craft to make tissue paper or cloth ghosts of any size your material will allow.
Materials You Will Need
White tissue paper cut into squares (any size you would like the ghosts to be)
White tissue paper scraps for stuffing the head
Rubber band or twist tie
Fine point marker
Fishing line or strong thread for hanging
Paper clip, opened to look like an “S”
How You Make it
Step 1:
If your tissue paper is rectangular, lay it out with the short sides at the top and bottom. Fold down the top left corner, bringing the side down diagonally until what was the top is aligned with the right side of the sheet of tissue paper. Make sure it is lined up exactly. Smooth the fold.
Step 2:
Cut along the bottom edge of the folded section, removing the part of the tissue paper that is not folded double. Use these scraps to stuff the head of the ghost. What you have left should look like a triangle. Open it up and it will be a square.
Step 3:
Gather the center of the square into a circle with one hand to make a pocket.
Step 4:
Stuff the pocket with tissue paper scraps forming a ball with tissue paper all around.
Step 5:
Close this ball with a rubber band or twist tie.
Step 6:
Draw a face with on the ghost with a fine tipped marker.
Step 7:
Wrap the fishing line or thread around the “neck” of the ghost. Tie the other end to an opened paper clip. Hang your ghost from a lamp shade, a curtain rod, or any other place you would like.
Helpful Tips for Parents
Tip 1:
These ghosts may also be made of white light-weight fabric. Use ghosts made of fabric outdoors.
Tip 2:
Fishing line might be difficult for some preschoolers to handle. If that is the case, they can use string or yarn or whatever they can handle.
Tip 3:
Your preschooler can make theses ghosts any size that the paper will accommodate. Try making some mini ghosts from 4-inch squares.
Tip 4:
Facial tissues are the perfect size for small ghosts if you want to save the trouble of cutting.
