Sock Snowman Winter Preschool Craft

Preschoolers grow out of their clothes so fast! Instead of tossing those socks that are too small, try making this Sock Snowman Winter Preschool Craft. They make cute little dolls for your preschooler to play with or to give as gifts. Make a whole family of them and give them to a friend who has a winter birthday. It’s also a great use for a sock who is missing its pair!

What You Need

One White Sock
One Colored Sock – for the hat
Rice or Dried Beans
Yarn
Felt Scraps
Scissors
Glue

How To Make It

Step One:
Fill the white sock with rice or beans until the whole foot area is filled. Tie it off by making a knot in the sock.

Step Two:
Take a piece of yarn and tie it around the middle of the foot section to separate it into two parts, one for the head and one for the body.

Step Three:
Use the colored sock as a hat on your snowman. Then, use the felt scraps to make a face. You can add other details such as a scarf, buttons, or even arms.

Variations

Use colored socks to make other creatures – brown for a dog, green for a snakes, etc. Just be sure to tie them shut well or you will end up with a mess!
