When your preschooler is off to visit their grandparents you can be sure nothing is forgotten with this Sleep Over Pillow Case Preschool Craft. With room for all the sleep over necessities, you will be sure to have everything your preschooler will need during their stay. As long as you remember the pillow, you won’t forget the PJ’s, books, or toothbrush!
2 Standard Size Pillow Cases
Sewing Machine (or hand sew) – For Parents Use
Fabric Paints and/or Fabric Pens
Ribbon or Cording
Pillow
Pajamas
Bed Time Stories
Iron On Transfers - Optional
Get out the fabric paints and decorate one side of each pillow case. You can personalize it however you and your preschooler choose. It’s nice to put their name on it along with a saying such as “My Sleep Over Bag” or something of the sort. You can also use iron on transfers to decorate the cases as well.
Step Two:
This requires a grown ups help: After the paint is dry and you have set the colors as per the directions on the fabric paint container, sew the two pillow cases together with the artwork facing out. You will only sew three sides shut, leaving the ends exposed. This will result in a three “compartment” bag.
Step Three:
You can add a strap by sewing ribbon or cording to the end of the cases. Add your pillow to one compartment, bed time stories to another, and pajamas to the third. You now have a personalized, handy Sleep Over Pillow Case to carry everything you need. Don’t forget your toothbrush!

How To Make It

Variations
Parents: If you like to sew, add some embellishment to the case like rick rack, fringe, or other trim.
