Silhouette Family Preschool Craft
Here is a family preschool craft suitable for holiday gift giving. A light source, black paper, and a cooperative preschooler make this an easy afternoon project. Make one for each of your children and place it in a frame to give to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and don’t forget to keep one for yourself!What You Need
Light Source – desk lamp would work
Large sheet of black paper
Large sheet of white paper
Scissors
Pen or Pencil to trace silhouette
Frame
How To Make It
Step One:Hang a black piece of paper on a wall. Position your preschooler on a chair or stool in front of the paper. Shine a light and project your preschoolers profile shadow onto the paper.
Step Two:
With your preschooler sitting as close as possible to the paper (to get an actual size silhouette) trace the outline of their shadow.
Step Three:
Cut out the silhouette and glue it onto a sheet of white paper.
Step Four: optional
Trace your preschooler’s hand onto black paper and trim out as well. Then glue onto the white paper.
Step Five:
Frame your silhouettes and add your preschooler’s name and the date. Wrap it up and present it to family members.
Variations
