Sachets for Mother’s Day Preschool Craft

Moms and Grandmas love to receive gifts for Mother’s Day that are handmade by the children they love. You and your preschooler can make up several of these sweet smelling sachets to give out to all the “moms” in their lives – grandmas, aunts, cousins and even neighbors or their friend’s moms. They are very simple to make and the ladies will just love them!

Difficulty Level 2 out of 5What You Need

8 inch Square Fabric or Netting
Potpourri
Rubber Band
Ribbon
Little Silk Flowers
Tag With The Following Poem:
    This pretty bag of potpourri
Was made for you by little me.
So keep it somewhere it can stay
To remind you of this Mother’s Day!

How To Make It

Step One:
Lay out the fabric or netting on a flat surface. Let your preschooler place a small handful of the potpourri onto the middle of it.

Step Two:
Gather up the corners together to make a little pouch where the potpourri is. Then secure with a rubber band (the adult may need to help with this).

Step Three:
Make a little card with the above poem on it and have the preschooler write his or her name at the bottom of it. Punch a hole and thread onto a ribbon.

Step Four:
Tie the ribbon with the tag around the sachet. Include a small silk or other type of artificial flower along with the ribbon to make it look extra special.

Variations

This is not only a Mother’s Day gift, but could be given any time of year.
