Just about every preschooler has played with clay or play dough before. But clay takes on a new shape with this Pressed Clay Preschool Craft. Little bits of clay or play dough mush together to make an exciting image that you can place on a shelf in your preschoolers room or any where else in your home. It’s very easy and loads of fun seeing just what your can create with a little clay.

What You Need

Clay or Play Dough in various colors
Plexiglass (or glass if you’re careful) – 2 pieces the same size
Masking Tape or other Decorative Tape

How To Make It

Step One:
Place one piece of the plexiglass on your work surface. Begin rolling little pieces of the clay into balls.

Step Two:
Using the different colored clay balls, for a picture on the piece of plexiglass. Flower designs are easiest but you can make whatever you’d like, just be sure to place the balls relatively far apart because they will expand in the next step.

Step Three:
When you are happy with the placement of the clay, carefully place the other piece of plexiglass on top, lining it up with the first piece. Press down and watch your clay picture form into a one of a kind piece of art.

Step Four:
Neatly tape the plexiglass together around the edges. You now have a clever piece of art to decorate your home.

Variations

Have your preschooler make letters with thin pieces of clay. When they mush it down, it will make their name into a pretty cool design.
