Magnetic Tic Tac Toe Craft

Tic Tac Toe is an easy game to play with your preschooler. Make this magnetic version and play a game or two on your kitchen refrigerator. Preschoolers will have fun choosing a theme and making the game pieces then will be able to continue to enjoy this everyday craft again and again.

What You Need:

10 Large Flat Glass Marbles (or rocks if you prefer)
Themed Stickers – we used dolphins and water drops
Magnetic Strips – be sure your magnets are strong enough to hold the weight of the marbles or rocks.
White Paint (if using glass marbles)
Masking Tape or Sticker Strips to make the “game board”

How to Make It

Step One:
If you are using glass marbles, paint the back side of them with white paint and let it dry. This will prevent you from seeing the magnet stuck on back.

Step Two:
Make two sets of game pieces by decorating 5 rocks with one sticker design and the other 5 with a coordinating sticker design.

Step Three:
Stick the magnetic strips on the back of each game piece.

Step Four:
Mark off a grid on your refrigerator and now you are ready to play!

Variations

You could paint the rocks instead of using stickers. You can use these as regular magnets when you are not playing the game. Try playing on other metal surfaces. Leave the magnets off and you have a portable game to take anywhere.
