Light Switch Cover Preschool Craft

There’s no need to spend money on a fancy light switch plate for your preschooler’s room. It’s easy enough to make your own. And what’s better, this Craft Stick Light Switch Preschool Craft is a something that you can do together. Personalize it with their name, decorate it to match their bedroom décor, or design it based on a favorite movie or hero – the possibilities are only as limited as your imagination!

What You Need

9 Craft Sticks
Sheet of Craft Foam
Glue
Utility Knife – adult use only!
Various Items to Decorate – paint, stickers, buttons, jems, magazine cut outs, pressed flowers, etc.
Double Stick Tape

How To Make It

Step One:
Cut the craft foam to approximately the size of the light switch plate cover and no longer than the length of a craft stick. Mark where the switch should poke through and cut a hole.

Step Two:
Lay the craft sticks side by side on the foam sheet. Cut the stick in the middle in half and then trim to allow for the switch to poke through.

Step Three:
Glue craft sticks side by side to the foam and let dry completely. Trim any of the foam sheet that may be hanging over the edge.

Step Four:
Paint the sticks, add stickers, buttons, flowers, etc. depending on the design you want for your light switch plate cover. When you are happy with the finished product, use double stick tape to stick it to your existing switch cover. There you go!
