Set aside a quiet afternoon, get out some paint and decorations and let your preschooler help you get one of the items on your holiday “to do list” completed.

Difficulty Level 2 out of 3What You Need

Downloadable PDF Mitten Card
8.5”x11” Cardstock to Print On
Tempra Paint (white, red, or black)
Marking Pens
Glue
Glitter, Stickers, Ribbon, Sequins, etc. (for embellishing the cards)

How To Make It

Step One:
Download the printable mitten card and print it out on cardstock. (You will need Adobe Reader® for this.)

Step Two:
Paint your preschooler’s hand with the paint and guide them on how and where to make a handprint. Let the paint dry.

Step Three:
Let your preschool write his/her name in the cuff of the card (or parent can do this step if you want). Then let him/her start decorating with glitter, stickers, buttons, sequins, ribbon, etc. with a little help from mom or dad.

Step Four:
Get some envelopes, address them and send out your handmade holiday cards!

Variations

Print out several of the cards, have your preschooler handprint them then trim out the mittens to use as ornaments on your Christmas Tree.
