Difficulty Level 2 out of 5What You Need

Terra Cotta Flower Pot
Terra Cotta Saucer
Paint, Stickers and/or Markers
Spray Varnish
Rocks
Water
Toy Frogs and Bugs (optional)

How You Make It

Step One:
Turn the flower pot upside down (this will be the base) and let your preschooler decorate it any way he/she chooses with paints, stickers or even marking pens.

Step Two:
Spray the pot with varnish to help make the decorations last a little longer. The more coats you spray, the longer the stickers and paint will last.

Step Three:
While the varnish is drying, collect some rocks from outside or use decorative ones from the craft store and place them in the saucer.

Step Four:
When the varnish is dry, find the perfect place in your backyard or garden and place the flower pot base. Then place the saucer on top and add water. You can add a few toy frogs or bugs to enjoy until your own guests arrive.

Variations

Instead of filling the saucer with water, you can fill it with bird seeds to make a bird feeder. Or, use a larger pot and saucer and make a bird bath.
