Family Placemat Craft

Spend some time together and create this family preschool craft. Personalized placemats allow everyone to express their creativity and gives your preschooler a chance to have some fun with the whole family. You can purchase pre-cut felt shapes or free hand cut your own to make these bright, cheerful placemats.

What you need

Large sheets of felt – one for each placemat
More felt cut into shapes, letters, etc.
Clear adhesive shelf liner
Scissors
Glue

How to Make It

Step One:

Cut a piece of the clear shelf liner a little larger than the felt sheet. Peel the backing and stick it onto the felt.

Step Two:

Flip it over and lightly glue on any felt shapes, letters, etc. to the top of the mat.

Step Three:

Cut another piece of clear shelf liner and cover the top of the placemat with it. Set the finished placemats at their appropriate spot at the table.

Variations

Create pet placemats using the same technique. Or, use fabric instead of felt. You can use stickers and markers to add even more decoration.
