8”x10” Plain Wooden Frame
11x17 Piece of Cardstock
Plain Calendar Pages
Either printed from your computer or from a store bought calendar.
Paint and Brushes
Foam Stickers - optional
The first step is to paint and decorate the wooden frame. Your preschooler can paint it how ever they choose. Then, you will probably need to help paint on the corresponding year. You may want to let your preschooler continue decorating the frame with foam stickers for a dimensional effect.
Step Two:
Staple the calendar pages to the bottom of the cardstock leaving room at the top to attach to the frame. Depending on the frame, you can attach the cardstock with tape or staples. Just be sure that you are still able to remove the artwork.
Step Three:
Have your preschooler do a drawing or painting for the month. For example, if it’s January he/she can make a snow scene. Then, put it in the frame.
Step Four:
As the months go by, your preschooler can make a new work of art that is representative of the holidays that month or the season of the year.
