A Christmas Story BB Craft

Remember Ralphie in the movie A Christmas Story wanting that Red Rider BB Gun so badly? His parents should have bought him the bb’s without the gun and made this Christmas Story BB Craft instead. Have your preschooler give it a try and it’s guaranteed that he won’t shoot his eye out!

What You Need

Small Tin with Clear Lid
Old Christmas Card or Clipart
Corrugated Cardboard
Several BB’s
Scissors
Glue
Pencil

How To Make It

Step One:
Take your small tin (you can get them at most craft stores) and have your preschooler trace the shape onto your old Christmas card or Christmas clipart then cut it out.

Step Two:
Trace the tin onto the cardboard as well and cut it out.

Step Three:
Let your preschooler put a small bit of glue inside the tin and put the cardboard piece in. Next, put a bit of glue on the cardboard and put the image into the tin.

Step Four:
With the pencil, poke some small holes in the image where appropriate. Add the bb’s and put the lid on. Now you can play with bb’s without shooting your eye out!

Variations

This is not just a Christmas time craft, you can make it any time of the year with any image you like. If you don’t have a little tin, try using a match box or a jar lid – you don’t really need a clear cover to make it fun.
